The Apple forums have reports of a bug. Have any of your real people experienced this?? It does look like software to me.

No reported issues here with around 11 staff iPads upgraded to the latest version....
RLR Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 I had this happen before with some iPads on the older versions of IOS. This was like ios 7. Not happened much since IOS8 and we've not had any reports with ios 9.2. We have around 800 iPads too. We found when a new IOS update was released this would sometimes fix the issue. Or a restore might help.
tmoon-mint Posted January 7, 2016 Posted January 7, 2016 When you open the Camera app does it just stay on a black screen, with the shutter buttons still available on the bottom? I had this before on an older version of iOS and it was a hardware problem with the camera.
