Easy way to pull files from a VLE

Afternoon all,

I inherited an old Moodle VLE and have little idea how to use it over the odd user permission. Anyway we are shutting it off in summer with a move to Google Classroom planned. A few staff want to pull documents from it and expected the files would be found in a folder within the server somewhere but that does not appear to be the case.

Is there an easy way to download all the files from each module somehow or will we have to download each item one by one?

It depends on what "old" is in terms of the "old Moodle VLE" you inherited is. If it is 1.9 (before 2010) then you will be able to find the folders on the server. If it is less than five years old then it's not as straightforward. If all they have is files such as Word docs in the courses you could maybe try something like Download them all
