We are having real issues with this update, wondering if anyone else is having problems.

Issues are certain staff cant run the console at all, I can run it and see machines listed but not connect to any of them, then sometimes it will let me. Had no issues with the previous version and this update has been installed the same way as previous updates. So currently none of IT support can connect to anything with it....

We've had 5.1.12 for several weeks and if anything it seems far more stable than the last version we had (5.1.05). I've gone from several console crashes daily to virtually none.

Was having loads of issues with 5.1.12 here too, made sure the server was fully up to date and then rebooted and it seems a lot better, but there seems to be a lot of issues with clients connecting to the Impero server; it now seems to take twice as long and some don't connect at all.

I had a bit of a glitch initially with 5.1.12, but they sorted it remotely quickly... It's been fine since...

Could be worth redeploying Impero to all the clients... That's the first thing I'd try if some aren't showing up.

Isn't 5.1.12 still in an open Beta though? So little glitches are to be expected...

We are having exactly the same problems as you have described.....

What version of Server are you running? I think our issues have settled now, most of the clients are now connecting, just a few which might just need the client rolling out again aren't.

The only thing I have done is updated our server fully (2012 R2) and installed ASP.NET 4.5 and our issues seem to have gone.

So after posting this yesterday saying that all seemed to be okay one of the technicians told me yesterday that the clients had all disconnected and nobody could access the console.

This morning is the same, nothing can access the server.

The biggest issue we have at the moment, is when all of this happens the machines with console access suddenly become extremely slow.

Impero have said that to be removed from this version I would have to turn off Automatic Client Updating and then uninstall Impero from every client then contact them to be downgraded, then push out the old version again which is something I'm going to have to look at today I think.

Is this version fully released yet or is it still under beta testing?

This is a CTP release not a full version. I know we should be careful rolling out CTP releases but I had come to trust the Impero software, all of the CTP releases we have loaded so far have been great and we have never had any major problems with any of the versions we have loaded, I will be removing the site from the CTP/Beta rollout and will not be loading any more releases.

Have you tried deploying the Impero MSI to the whole network again? I've been using it for years now, so had quite a few beta versions but never had any major issues with them - certainly nothing that's ever necessitated downgrading to an older version...

Have you asked Impero Support to look on the server remotely? I'd be surprised if they can't resolve whatever the issue is that way...

I have tried re-rolling the client out and that doesn't solve the issue. Strange thing is, rebooting the server allows the clients to connect again for a couple of hours and then they all seem to disconnect again and the issue comes back.

I've emailed support this morning and if I haven't had a reply by lunch time I will give them a quick call.

This really is the first major issue I've had with Impero, been running it for years too.

Just a quick update to the thread.

I have disabled the Radicalisation Policy that Impero installed for us and our issues appear to have gone.

Looks like the policy was recording student screens almost all of the time and I think it was just getting a little overwhelmed.

Had you made any changes to it? The only things I changed to them on mine was to add email notifications for heads of year, but didn't adjust the recording etc...

Could be worth a quick look through the logs to see which keyword(s) were triggering it... it could be an innocent slang term that's local to your area that's got other potential meanings elsewhere...

Thanks, that's possible. I'll peruse the logs and see what I can find.
