[sccm 2012] SCCM Migration

Hi All,

 

I am just in the process of migrating from Sccm 2007 to SCCM 2012. If I turn off PXE on the 2007 server and on, on the 2012 server, will the Machines rebuild/reimage themselves?

Not unless you tell them to. Do you want them to? If so, why?

No I didn't want them to but the setup of the 2007 server would rebuild the machines if the last pxe advertisement had been cleared, but it's fine, I've done it and am changing the set so that pxe boot has to use f12 and be triggered manually

may not be necessary with your configuration but had me scratching my head for an hour or so after migrating ours over to a new server

 

when you migrate your server we had to add the IP helper address on our vlans on our core switch and also change DHCP scope options 66 and 67.

Oh right, I've only been at this place for a few weeks now and its all stuff that was in place when I arrived. At the minute there is no VLANs in place, I'm looking to do that in the summer.

You only need to set options 66 and 67 if you are running DHCP on the same server as WDS. Otherwise setting DHCP helpers should be enough to get it going across VLANs.

We had to do both as we found certain hardware types still failed to pxe boot

Did anyone have any issue with network access accounts access network shares for deploying software and joining domain?
