Network Scanning Tools

Hi Everyone

 

Can anyone suggest any networking scanning tool which draws your network without doing it yourself ? I did have one but it was messing my machine up and had to take it off.

The Dude can do it. Only thing is, the more complex the network, the more likely you will have to make manual changes to fix the map. It also depends what you want to actually include. If I run it here, I end up with nearly 1000 devices on there, with plenty of oddities, due to some devices having multiple IPs, virtual servers sharing ports etc...

+1 for The Dude. Spend a little time with it and narrow it's scanning down to the subnets you want and it'll save a little hassle.

Another vote for The Dude. Honestly, I haven't found any other solution that is as easy to use and is as robust. I mapped out all seven buildings in it and setup monitoring for copy machines and even the battery backup units. It's really slick.

Another Dude fan here, and you can add your own maps/layouts to drag and drop equipment onto.

For such a small package it's very slick, and like most network mapping tools you may find yourself having to add the odd bit of kit manually.
