Opened for me in Powerpoint 2010.

We have been having quite random issues today with some PPTX and PUB files crashing on opening.

We are still looking into this - but it is looking very like a recent windows update that fixed a font security issue is causing it.

The Network Manager here added another new windows update today that 'might' have fixed it (he's gone home now for the weekend so sorry I cannot provide kb numbers etc)

All I can say is we had about 27 updates wednesday to install (and this update that seems to fix it is a new one today)

Sorry if its a little vague - as we haven't had chance to fully verify the fix yet

We've seen similar issues here; only some Publisher and Powerpoint files causing an issue; others open fine on same computer, and those documents will open on other PCs so suspect it's as the update hits the PC. Hope update today does trick; haven't seen any site of it yet...

I found that if I right-click on the troubled files, and select Properties, I find a Security message at the bottom of the General tab. There is a button to the right to "Unblock" the content from the file. Once I clicked on that, the file opened just fine.
