Windows 10 not allowing logon with account that has no password

I have had Year 5 kids call me Miss (I'm male btw) and the same class asking me how to turn , then be baffled when I said 'no password' and then basically guide them all through step by step on how to open a web page.

 

If these kids are the future, I'm getting worried.

ahhh ok. I'd have too many duplicates on account of being a 2 form intake. Currently for the younger ones we have class logons like r1, r2, y1f etcs. I'll have to put passwords on them once I start with the Windows 10 rollout.

 

I have set up usernames as first two characters of first name, first two characters of second name and the year they entered reception - I wanted four character usernames, but got too many duplicates even in a 90 intake infant school. Password is first for digits of dob. Not "secure", but gets then into the habit of using a username and password and the teacher and parent can easily work out what it is to support logging on. My justification was that they have to have an individual login for the vle, so if we go for the same details for everything, they should learn quite quickly.

 

Example: Bill Gates starting school this year, birthday 1st April 2011 would login with:

 

Username: biga15

Password: 0104

 

I generated them from an extract from our MIS.

When I managed a primary schools IT the username was the childs first name, when we had two they got the first letter of the last name as well and the password was all the same, boy for boys and girl for girls.
