T_Lister Posted November 4, 2015 Posted November 4, 2015 One of our printers has now decided that it does not want to work on the network. We either get a single solid orange light or no light at all on the NIC. Not able to ping, nothing. If we connect a laptop with a crossover cable, no problems at all. I've tried a different IP address on the printer, and still nothing. Tried using another cable and another network port, yet still it doesn't work... Any thoughts?
Oaktech Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 can you roll back the port speed on the switch to 100mb full duplex and see if that helps. It might be struggling to auto negotiate.
truebluesteve Posted November 5, 2015 Posted November 5, 2015 Could be a broken network card in the printer - we have had them before. The are usually just a daughter-board that can be replaced
T_Lister Posted November 5, 2015 Author Posted November 5, 2015 We've had the engineer out to look at it. As far as they're concerned, as long as the crossover cable works, there is no problem. The feedback they gave us after that was a conflicting IP. This we know not to be the case though as I've tested it on another IP, but yet no flashing lights either still.
