Hi all

I was hoping someone can point me in the direction of a good network discovery and mapping tool. I basically need to be able to scan the network as and when required and then have it map what is connected to what in a visual diagram which shows all links and speeds etc. It needs to be able to find everything on the network from servers, tablets, access points, controllers, sans, switches etc. Once done it need to be able to export so i can put it into a report, Visio or Excel.

It can be free or paid, depending on the features. I have used Spiceworks but have found it to be too much of an overhead in that you have to install the whole thing where really i just want a discovery and mapping tool.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks folks

If you want to keep cost down then Spiceworks is a really good option. I know that you dismissed this in your first post but I am not sure that you will find anything that does what you want, and does it so well, for a low cost. The mapping is actually something I really miss after moving from Spiceworks to Lansweeper.
