[sccm 2012] Imaging a Mac boot camp with SCCM

Morning all

 

Is there any easy way to get SCCM 2012 R2 to push out our Windows 7 64 Bit image across to the boot camp part of a Mac? Obviously we would have to add the Boot Camp drivers afterwards but I really don't want to have to do a clean Windows 7 install as it'll take forever!

Restore it to partition 4 this seems to work

Was looking for a way before and can't seem to find one as Mac's wont accept PXE boot.

 

In the end we did manual Windows install and then once the clients on, it'll push the software down. Not great but certainly would be interested if you find a way

Sccm standalone media should do it. I had it working with mdt but not had chance to move it over to sccm yet. Need to though, soon

Pretty sure when I looked at it (although I may just have been failing) that as it's a virtual SCCM server I couldn't create standalone media. It won't accept any usb/harddrives attached via the host as they don't show up as the right sort of media (think it shows as disk and not removable and it didn't accept that, or vice versa cant remember), and our image wouldn't fit on DVD etc Guess one of these days when I get a minute I should go back to looking at it again

Yeah id has to be dvd. You could use a thin image with updates applied. At least then its up to date and will also join it to the domain etc

 

All our software applies via gpo and sccm afterwards

this was on my to-do list for last thursday.

The DT department managed to get themselves 8 5-year-old imacs that they want to run windows 7 on (as their favourite piece of software doens't work on osx) for the sixth formers to work on but the first one I tried had its hdd fail during the upgrade to el capitan.

It's on my to-do list for this thursday now
