Group Policy Preferences - Printer Mapping Issues

Ive had issues previously.

What has worked is using group policy to add the printers.

This is per user at the moment, under preferences > control panel > printers. You can set it to delete all shared printers as the first port of call.

This is also for windows 11 clients accessing a windows 2021 server.

The thing that seems to make this work is to render prints on the server, not the client. make sure they are listed in the directory, make sure your permissions are set correctly.

Since doing it this way I have had zero issues and clients log on super fast. I have not had to install printer drivers.

also make sure you are using v4 drivers.
