1066girl Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 We have been trialling the above software and it has been brilliant for packaging apps for SCCM 2012. However, we have just got the pricing through Millgate and its £18k per annum which is way out of our price range. Have anyone else found a more reasonably priced solution? We need to ensure we can use it for App-V, so it is more than a simple MSI packager that we need. Thanks in advance Angela
psydii Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 What? It's £1800 per annum! which for some might still be too expensive, but on large systems it is a god send to have access to proper world class tools with decent technical support who can talk you through those difficult package builds...
Arthur Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 (edited) Advanced Installer would be worth a look especially if you are converting MSIs to App-V packages. IIRC, schools get a 30% discount off list price. Edited October 15, 2015 by Arthur
synaesthesia Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 What on earth for? Never had to use anything more than Winstall LE for the awkward ones I can't just throw out via SCCM natively!
localzuk Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 I've not had to repackage anything at all since I started using SCCM in 2012. What is it you're repackaging? APPV has its own packager built in also, so why would that need an additional packager on top? If I want to build my own MSI, say to install Fonts, I use Advanced Installer Free.
1066girl Posted October 15, 2015 Author Posted October 15, 2015 psydii - we were quoted £18k not £1800! If it was £1800 it wouldn't be a problem. I will double check that with Millgate! Thanks for all your suggestions, we will look at Advanced Installer in the meantime!
kellybrooks86 Posted February 22, 2017 Posted February 22, 2017 (edited) I like Advanced Installer. With some of my clients, I've also used Pace Suite (Pace Suite) - it's also substantially cheaper that AS and has some discounts for edu clients. Edited February 22, 2017 by kellybrooks86 i forgot to mention a discount for edu 1
