Gongalong Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 It's been down for a varying number of hours for the past few days. It was down for a couple of days between the 5th and 7th. I'm glad we ditched it...
Gongalong Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 This is the last 30 days of downtime, shown as red: 1
Gongalong Posted May 11, 2018 Posted May 11, 2018 We use a shared spreadsheet in Office 365. I didn't think it would work, but it seems to be. Best option out there that I've found is Room Booking System from School Cloud Systems. Syncs with SIMS. But it's expensive.
CumbrianMan Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 Down again for us this morning. Anyone else? I've sent Tom an email this morning and told him that his communication is ineffective to say the least, and he at least needs to send out a group email as a courtesy to advise of any downtime, or at least post something here so that word can be spread around. No doubt he won't do the latter because of the potential backlash!! If he's taking our money though, surely it's common courtesy to advise us somehow. Most of us are techies and we'll understand a lot of the time if there are technical issues, but just let us know!! Rant over, maybe time to seriously look for an alternative!
Gongalong Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 It's been offline since 9am yesterday. It was great while it lasted, but they need to provide a resilient service. A great shame.
sarahstacey Posted May 16, 2018 Posted May 16, 2018 I've given up with it now. I've emailed them a few times lately and had no reply. It is a shame as when it worked it was great. I've gone over to using resource bookings with google calendar and embedding the calendar in a google site. It seems to work well.
10101010 Posted May 16, 2018 Author Posted May 16, 2018 seems ok now, but yes im looking at another solution over the summer break. preferably free
quiet_andy Posted May 25, 2018 Posted May 25, 2018 "Service Unavailable" down again, looks like we are moving or making something ourselves.
10101010 Posted May 29, 2018 Author Posted May 29, 2018 Tom has offered me a refund, he's having major issues with his server provider Gonna wait til the summer to sort something else out.
Dwigt Posted June 5, 2018 Posted June 5, 2018 (edited) I'm testing a self-hosted MRBS installation at the moment. The interface is pretty awful but as it's just php, I'm rejigging a lot of it. It was really easy to get running and was better than writing one completely from scratch! https://mrbs.sourceforge.io/ Edited June 5, 2018 by Dwigt 1
