Games 'More Harmful To Grades' Than Social Media

Research in Northern Ireland has found that excessive use of video games is likely to have a detrimental effect on GCSE results.

 

A study of 14-16 year olds found that only 41% of children who played computer games twice a day achieved five good GCSE grades, compared to 77% of those who played rarely.

I had to watch it twice because of that. Those numbers are not the total Percentage of children in the study but actually the percentage of the people who said they play and don't play games regularly. Crazy statistics

without knowing the exact mechanics of the survey it proves very little. The simple question is just how many people were surveyed and how many answered truthfully (and how many were so daft they spent the night before the exams playing gta5 till 4am ) From a smaller survey size of 2 (me and my younger sister) I played a lot more games than she did and my grades weren't much worse and shes more academically minded than I am to boot

It doesn't appear to be a peer reviewed study, so I'm pretty sure we can ignore it...
