Hi

I'm just wondering if there's a way of mapping printers to computers for only certain lessons, ie certain times a fortnight recurring. Has anyone done anything like this?

I'm looking at GPP targeting editor and that has time/date items but it doesn't seem like the answer. Script that queries a timetable or similar?

BUMP!

I've looked at:

Group Policy Preferences Targetting - the printer is deployed via Print Management 'Deploy with Group Policy' rather than GPP

Papercut Script - Can enable and disable the printer via scheduled task but staff need to be able to print to it without time restrictions (restrictions only for pupils)

Applying a WMI Filter - I think this might be the best bet but I'm not sure how to go about getting it to combine a time and a date (using WMI Code Generator)

Any help appreciated!

A different GPP for Staff and students??

But never done this before.

I've come back to it as it seems like the best answer. The targeting will only allow you to set day of the week and time slots with and/or functions. I can narrow it down, but it won't be 100% as we have a two-week timetable cycle and the lessons are in different periods in week 1 and week 2.

Thanks!

I have done this with a vbs logon script. Just checks the time and maps it if its between times. Week 1/2 is harder. Perhaps a registry key that is updated every monday (if value is 1 then set to 2, if value is 2 set to 1?) the script could then check this and current time before mapping
