VmWare Fusion or Parallels?

I was wondering what would be a good option to use here. I saw someone using VMWare Fusion yesterday which had XP Pro running as a Virtual Machine.

 

Now, I have no knowledge on Mac's but i thought this would be a good idea our Arts staff who use Mac Notebooks to get a way of using XP as well and being able to use all the network resources available to all the XP clients.

 

I know there is Mac Server options but i don't think this is viable for a small number of Mac laptops. I know a little about Parallels but wondered which would be the best option and also the easiest.

I personally prefer VMWare, but used to use Parallels.

 

The main thing that I think VMWare has going for it is that the VM's can be used on any other of the VMWare products. You can do the same for the Parallels ones I believe, but I don't know of many people who use the winodws version of Parallels.

 

Parallels do however have the advantage of being involved with Mac's for a lot longer though.

I have both installed on my macbook but I think I like Fusion better as it appears to be more responsive and you are able to congfigure images in a lot more detail.
