We're in the process of changing our contract for our MFD's. We've been using Uniflow for a number of years but it looks like our next devices will be coming with Papercut.

Our Business manager is new to the job and I'm just a bit concerned that the quote that looks most favorable in terms of devices might be a bit over the top for the cost of Papercut.

I'm not sure about forum etiquette with regard to the posting of costs, would it be okay to post them, but without the supplier details, so that someone might be able to give me an idea as to whether if it is good or not?

Cheers

Quotes can get tricky. If you have a quote and call around I am sure someone could beat it by a few pennies just to win the business. As the leg work has already been done by 1 reseller the other one really has nothing to lose.

Plus the quote may be set out in various formats that may factor in all sorts of none papercut related items or services. If you have multiple quotes then you need to compare like for like, perhaps 1 includes the copiers - another may include a better support contract or perhaps a lower per page cost.

It is always wise to seek more than one quote but remember you have to work with these people for a number of years so the relationship should be one of the main factors

Can you not say that papercut has far better features than the quoted software? You might need to do some comparing to see how others stack up against papercut. I had really dig my heels in and say that we wanted papercut after we have been using for many years on the NG version. I can safely say that the bursar couldnt be more happier with the software, ok there are little niggles with it but isnt there with everything? I think its how flexible the software can be which is why a lot of people like it.
