I have currently built a server for Hype-V purposes,

I want to be able to take my physical server machines and migrate them to a virtual machine.

Is there a way of doing this?

One thing i am worried about is the drivers for the physical machine stopping the virtual machine from running! would this be a problem?

My Hyper V is running on Windows Hyper-V Server 2012 R2

and my physical Servers are running on Windows server 2008 R2

Are you sure? I just checked the server we did in the summer at one of our primary schools and it's VHDX.

Infact if you click my hyperlink you can see in the screenshot that there is a "use VHDX" tick box :-)

*ahem* must have er, been updated or something *ahem* :getmecoat:

  • Thanks 1
