Deleting Staff - "This staff has Database Data (1 record). It cannot be deleted."

Hi.

I'm trying to delete a couple of duplicate staff records that were created in error, but the 'Delete Staff' routine doesn't allow me to delete said records; I get a record summary, which contains the following:

This staff has Database Data (1 record). It cannot be deleted.

What does this mean? And is there any way it can be overriden?

Thanks in advance.

At a guess it means that the staff record has data attached to it. Removing it would lead to errors elsewhere. (Not the most helpful of messages, I agree)

That makes sense, but it does beg the question as to what is to be done in such instances... I'm hoping Capita have a solution in place!

Make them inactive, put DUPLICATE in the surname somewhere and ensure the "Eligible for SWR" box is unticked. This will prevent them from being picked up by the School Workforce Census.

Ugly solution but works.

Thanks. I've just done that!
