[windows tablet] Surface Alternatives

Hoping to put a bid into management to see if they can get me a Windows 8 or 10 tablet for network management. Mainly for going round our other sites, setting up wifi, testing connections etc etc.

 

I will upgrade the OS to an enterprise version as I could do with direct access.

 

Whats the cheaper alternatives to a surface pro 3 as they won't pay for one of those.

 

Looking at something like Asus Transformer Book T100

From experience, avoid the T100, though the T200 should be much better. Avoid anything which can only run 32bit Windows and has 2GB of RAM, IMO - you'll just be hobbling yourself for no good reason. The Surface 3 is very nice and much cheaper than the Pro too.

Is price your main determining factor?

 

I really like the Thinkpad 10, but if you are looking for something like the SP3, I'd take a look at the Surface 3. Much cheaper, and not bad specs-wise.

We have rolled out surface pro 3's to all staff. Very nice and fast. Looked at many alternatives but none had the build quality. Got 1 non pro surface 3, still nice device but pros are alot better
