The only wireless data projector I've ever seen was back in 2006 at a fancy training place! These will be 'portable' rather than fixed to a ceiling, so they don't need to be pocket sized but ideally quite slim and light. The party that requested these have now been made aware these will not be 'wireless' in terms of power(!) Just need a few models so I can send them off to the purchasing manager to get quoted on!

Just need a few models so I can send them off to the purchasing manager to get quoted on! might be easier and cheaper to pick a projector like you currently use and connect up a miracast/widi dongle (esp if projector has a usb port on it to power it) that way it uses the same bulb as the rest of your "fleet"

Michael Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 They're a waste of time, considering you'll always need a power lead. You can't beat the reliability of VGA/HDMI, irrelevant if it's portable or fixed.
VeryPC_Anthony_L Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 Interesting comments, there is a side that would agree with not going wireless but there are advantages for SOME situations such as multiple people connecting in a boardroom type meeting. If possible and where possible I would always advice a wired connection. The wireless screen mirroring has come miles since 2006, but then this is largely due to the development of wireless and other wireless associated technologies.
john Posted July 20, 2015 Posted July 20, 2015 I had a couple of the casio's with Wireless present options, they worked ok but they needed software on them so not so great for sudden I need to show my laptop now with no admin rights for a guest speaker etc... Probably needs more thought about what your presenting and from what device.

We have recently bought casio projectors and have dongles to mirror what ever the teacher has on their tablet. This works quite well even though the projectors are expensive.
wedemire Posted July 22, 2015 Posted July 22, 2015 I second the wireless display/miracast. We have a lot of teachers using this. Works well and let's you buy pretty much any projector. Computers need to be recent to support it. Microsoft sells a really inexpensive adapter.
