Hi,

Just wondering how many of us partake in reenactments of sorts. i partake in 14th centruy medieval primarily but also get involved in earlier, i guess i could go back to 12th with mail and a little bit later 15th century events.

I don't do dress up re-enactments but I do a lot of volunteer work with The Ancient Technology Centre at Cranborne and with Butser Ancient Farm near Petersfield. I'm a bit of a jack of all trades. I suppose my main thing is Scythe work, but I also do middle ages cookery, I work with the ard - oxen teams quite a lot and I work with the blacksmiths.

Re-enactments I take part in are the hard long struggle of the IT Technicians of the early 21st century before the rise of the Technomage. I have been known to travel back in time to fully immerse myself in the experience.

Well not alot depending on the group find a local group (I travel to nottingham for mine 1 hour journey one way) and the groups support you with kit and advice until your ready to start making / buying kit

I am not involved but I have watched many reenactments over the years and been very impressed with the attention to detail. I always wonder how they don't actually kill each other!

On a side note, my daughter's boyfriend's brother is heavily into it in Nottingham so you probably know him.
