Garacesh Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 This looks.. Eh. I mean, it looks pretty good.. but that Joker.. Urgh. He sounds alright, I'll give him that, close your eyes and listen to him speaking and that does ring "Joker" to me.. But he just looks so.. so awful. If it was a cruddy Penguin or Mr. Freeze it would be a bit more acceptable as they're 'lesser villains' (compared to Joker, Two-Face et al) but unfortunately, the Joker is only the most iconic villain of Batman ever. And they've royally ballsed up his appearance.
synaesthesia Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Meh. Only comic based thing I'm looking forward to currently is Deadpool, trailer for which was leaked at weekend. 1
Arthur Posted July 14, 2015 Author Posted July 14, 2015 And they've royally ballsed up his appearance. I agree. Jared Leto's Joker looks far too much like Marilyn Manson.
Garacesh Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Very much so, which, in all fairness, I think is what they were going for, so well done to their wardrobe department. But as 'The Joker' it just doesn't look right. All those tattoos, for example? Seriously? Can you imagine the Joker sat in a tattoo parlour for hours on end as some guy doodles ink into his skin? No chance. If all the HA HA HA HA HA's were scars.. Now I could totally imagine the Joker sat there with a razor blade carving each one of those into his own skin. That seems reasonable for his character. But the tattoos? Nah. The teeth? What's that all about? The hair.. I'm willing to accept the short hair, actually, as he's been drawn with multiple different hairstyles over the years.
Marshall_IT Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 To me, this is the most 'Joker' the Joker has looked in any film. Yeah, i take the point on the tattoos, but i wouldn't expect him to sit in a studio having them done, i'd expect him to be sat in his layer breathing nitrous oxide while hime an his guys scribble on each other... Tattoos are very much a popular culture thing of today. I loved Heath Ledger's Joker, but to me, he didn't look like the Joker. From the early comics Next iteration
sonofsanta Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 I just worry that it's going to be altogether too serious and humourless:(
bossman Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 "Heath Ledger" Was undeniably the best Joker I have seen, he took it to the highest level while encapsulating the DC comic strip character this one looks nothing like the DC comics and too aggressively stylised for me, I remember "Jaws" in "James Bond" who had better looking teeth!! Just my take but like the person to look realistically like the character they are supposed to portray don't you think?
synaesthesia Posted July 14, 2015 Posted July 14, 2015 Even though it was a voice more than a look, Mark Hamill's Joker in the games is often lauded as one of the best all round versions.
Grey-gear Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Looks a bit better than Superman vs Batman 1
Marshall_IT Posted January 20, 2016 Posted January 20, 2016 Yes it does... Best thing is, it doesn't have Ben Affleck in it!

Grey-gear Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Still looks cooler than Batman VS Superman, and hopefully it will be.
LeMarchand Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 As there were some different "funny" bits in that trailer that weren't in the previous one, I'm calling BS on this "reshoots to up the funny" story that has been doing the rounds. Looking like a great film.

rickjames Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 I can't say I had high hopes at the start, but each trailer has me more into it. Reading about Leto getting into character and stuff has been pretty cringey though...
rich_tech Posted April 18, 2016 Posted April 18, 2016 Thats my worry in this, DC films lately seem to always have had a character that goes over the top to make it become distracting to me. They need to calm down a bit and not rely on things like CGI too, they ruined both MoS and DoJ with that I thought. It looks enjoyable, but I think ill be wondering what will ruin it for me with the film
