Mel_CTS Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 We currently use an excel spreadsheet to record which person took which item and then mark it off when it has been returned, but this is time-consuming and isn't done every time something is taken. How does everyone else monitor equipment loaning? Looking for a few ideas to implement a better system than we currently have.
snagrat Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Junior Librarian. Just give the device a barcode like you would with a book
strawberry Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Photos. When they collect it they hold it up and I take a photo. When they return it they get their picture back. 1
Icangoogle Posted July 13, 2015 Posted July 13, 2015 Have all devices asset tagged and bar-coded by the library to distribute. We have 30 Ipads, 30 laptops, and 20 cameras. I certainly don't have time to keep track of devices. Library borrows the device the same way a book is borrowed.
kathabell Posted July 7, 2016 Posted July 7, 2016 We use Asset Manager; all the kit has a QR key which we scan, update the website with who's borrowed it and book it back in when returned. Works well and not too time consuming.
