Windows 7 Profile Question

Hi Guys,

 

Just wondering if I could pick your brains. I've got teachers who want to use there domain laptops at home but when they login at home they get "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request" and can't login? does this have something to do with Offline files or profiles?

 

Any direction would be ace.

If they have a cached profile it should log them on. All our staff are on roaming profiles

So am I correct in saying that roaming they can't login from home or not?

They can log on, in group policy, use "Only allow local user profile" option under Computer Configuration > Policies > Administrative Templates > System > User Profiles . It will cache the roaming profile to the laptop once and will allow the user to log on without being connected to your network. I use roaming and mandatory profiles at my Academy. It works really well.

Try that and see what you think.
