Hi Guys, Just wondering if I could pick your brains. I've got teachers who want to use there domain laptops at home but when they login at home they get "There are currently no logon servers available to service the logon request" and can't login? does this have something to do with Offline files or profiles? Any direction would be ace. Thanks

Am applying for a ICT Network Manager job and I've got a school tour. ATM am a senior Technician in a School and wanting to move to the next step. I've made up a list of things to ask on the tour...Just wondering if anyone wanted to add anything else valid to ask. How many Pupils ? How many Staff? What kind of network are you running? 1gig? Fibre? Cat 5? How many Physical servers do you have? Do you have any virtual servers? How many domains do you have? How many domain controllers do you have? Do you have an exchange server? Do you have a wireless setup at the school? Do you use a VLE system? How do you manage registration? SIMS? Cheers

Hey Guys ATM we currently have 11TB of storage which we probably use half off. Currently backing up onto External HDD using ntbackup. It does work but were living in the dark ages here? Could you recommend me some Rack mounted storage. Something like a NAS? Altogether we've got 4 Servers. Any Help is great thanks.

I like your idea's guys. ATM we have a projector celing mounted with a roll up and down projector white board. Really old school trust me. Needs to be bined really. In terms of sound (short term) we have a trolley with 2 speakers,amp, CD player all in one things. Works well for the tim being but long term. Visual - We have a VGA/Network Port just near the stage where we plug in the HALL Laptop which the teachers use for Powerpoint and the odd DVD. So basically I wanted to get rid of the Short term sound which have installed at the moment and replace the hall laptop with something which is build into the stage, Like a Desktop. What do you think?

Hey Guys Need some advise from you guys. Our hall ATM is getting a revamp on sound and ideally i'll like to stick a permenant computer in there aswell. Save's the laptop going missing every Monday morning... Has anyone has any experience with this kind of thing? interms of kit and cost?

Thanks for your input guys I gave it some thought today and Am going to go for the Server Administrator MCITP. Barnfield College do a course for 10 weeks in the evenings which looks interesting and doesn't cost to me either. The way am looking at is If you have a windows 7 machine PC world can fix it.....But if you have a Server 2008 R2 with some AD issues they will need to call the experts in right?

Hi Guys, Wondering if you can give me some advice on what courses to do? So far since Leaving University with a HND in Business computing. I've had around 5-6 years of 1st, 2nd, 3rd line support. Vary from Helpdesk support to getting my hands dirty. Now am looking to do some courses to help my career path. I've been recommended to do a CCNA course but unfortunately the place I want to do it doesn't start it until Sept so am looking for something to tie me over until then. I've been told to go for MCITP courses. Now this is the confusing bit? Am not sure what section I want to do? The course people are recommending me to start the Windows 7 MCITP for a good starter then work on from there. Any recommendation would be great. Thanks B
