Link: Walking times between stations on the same line [Presentation: 1 page PDF]

Walking can be a quick and easy way to get around, particularly when traveling during the busiest times, which are 08:00-09:00 and 17:30-18:30 Monday to Friday. This map shows how much time it takes to walk between stations on the same line...

Very handy for today.

For those travelling into London you can still get around using Overground, TfL Rail, DLR and Thameslink. They will be rather crowded though.

No pictures of the chaos? Send them to BBC, they seem to want to paint a picture of Armageddon in the capital at the moment. :p

There's a couple in there I'd probably dispute, having done them myself.

Walked in today (Oval to Knightsbridge) like I occasionally. Normally cycle but end of term staff event says I might have a drink. Pondered the bus as I walked through the bus station at Vauxhall but couldn't be bothered. Didn't seem too manic either which is odd.

£2 via debit card for 24 hours of 30min journeys using cycle hire. £3 if you want a key for regular use. That's actually not too bad.

Also there are commuters calling for more Tube strikes! This hasn't worked out well for the unions at all.

"I walked on the South Bank on this lovely morning and mused that those on strike should do this more often.

"Many of us within walking distance of our offices would be fitter and the money saved on their salaries could be invested in the project to automate the network."
