Investigating best provision for offsite backup of our Sims/FMS databases.

 

Anyone any recommendations and ideas of costs.

If you are on SQL 2012 SP1 CU2, there is always Azure? I don't know exact costs but I know BLOB storage is fairly cheap?

List price is: https://www.digitalmarketplace.service.gov.uk/service/5-g2-0472-001 - worth checking with LA, they might resell it at a reduced cost.

 

Before you say you can't afford it, look at Capita day rate for trying to fix a corrupt DB, then add the cost of data re-entry then add the hassle. Pretty sure any cost 'savings' over 3 years will be washed away.

Thinking back It was £350 a year plus a £400 install cost

i am looking at gigasoftdatabackup.com they are very good price wise and they remote in to do an install, does live sql backup and files
