VM Homehub issue

Morning all,

 

I am trying to enable MAC filtering on my son's devices, however it seems to be acting in a binary manor - even though I have set time schedules of 20:30 to 06:00 weekdays. I can turn it off, but when I add time schedules it just blocks regardless *sighs*.

 

Has anyone else noticed this?

Just to be a pedant but is it a VM Super Hub and if so what version or a BT Home Hub and if so what version?

You are quite right - VM Superhub V2 I think - sorry lack of caffeine caused me to do that.

There was a bug back in 2013 that when the filtering kicked in any existing connections would remain open but new ones refused. There was a promise of a firmware fix but it never materialised.

 

I would test the existing connection theory first and see if it is that, the example given was a connection to a game server staying open until it reconnected, if at all.

I sacked off mine, turned it into modem mode and invested in a TP Link router. Much more capability.
