Hi there,

we have just noticed that when typing email addresses into the body of emails in OWA, they are no longer being hyperlinked.

Can anyone else confirm whether or not they have this issue too?

Thanks in anticipation.

Why would they do this!?!?!?!

I have just spoke to there tech support and they just said that if this is the case then there must be a security issue or something! Great help that!!!!

I wonder if it's anything to do with the e-mails in question being in HTML or plain text? Plain text doesn't underline/hyperlink, whereas HTML does (I think)?

Hyperlinks are always a security risk and to the untrained eye, it's easy to create a link that re-directs elsewhere. As to whether it's sensible not to not hyperlink by default.... it's a tough one to call I guess.

I agree, it's an interesting decision, but maybe something that can be changed via Powershell possibly?

As for Outlook/Hotmail - this of course is separate to O365, but I'm guessing (for years) it's running on some form of Exchange version, unique to Microsoft only, seeing as the tools are similar/identical and the interface is different.
