Emails appear on iPad, not in web emails

Just had a user come to me asking some advice regarding their personal emails. They use TalkTalk mail (groan).

 

When receiving email, they come through to her iPad no problems, but when she logs into her web browser, he inbox displays as empty.

 

I didn't believe it, but just had a look, and indeed it's right. Her inbox is empty, I've sent her some emails and they're not showing up. I've sent an email from her account to herself, it doesn't show up, but I am able to email myself from her account with no problems.

 

Her sent emails are displaying in her sent box however.

 

Any thoughts?

Probably one of those mail setups which uses POP3 as standard so the only copy of the email will be on their ipad, as it's deleted from the server after being moved to the ipad local storage.

Never thought about that - it's a stupid idea really.

It is and I've seen a few other email services provided by ISPs do exactly the same thing. I'm not sure why since it's not like storage space is expensive.
