How to build or customise Windows theme

I know there are some sort of software to create your own theme, or create a complete new one for Windows 7, to be deployed across the network, but I can't find it.

 

Can anyone send me a link please.

Hello Glen and thank you for responding to my post. What I mean is trying to either make a fresh theme or customise an exiting theme for the school to reflect the school's ehtos Does this make sense???

Yes - so you're wanting to deploy a locked colour scheme that uses your house theme?

 

If so, you're wanting to look at something like this and also set the 'Windows Components/Desktop Window Manager/Window Frame Coloring' options using the ARGB colour options.

 

You can also deploy custom msstyles/aero theme files, but if I'm honest, I've never got these to work!

You can do it by hand: Create a Windows 7 Theme Pack From Scratch or a quick Google search shows a few bits of software.

 

All I tend do to is use Group Policy to enforce things like lock/logon screen, desktop background, colour scheme and screensaver and set an Icon for pupils (using a third party program IIRC). I guess it might be nice to have custom icons/sounds in certain schools/circumstances but it seems like a lot of hard work!
