  1. Hello Glen and thank you for responding to my post. What I mean is trying to either make a fresh theme or customise an exiting theme for the school to reflect the school's ehtos Does this make sense??? Regards Tushan - IT Technician
  2. I know there are some sort of software to create your own theme, or create a complete new one for Windows 7, to be deployed across the network, but I can't find it. Can anyone send me a link please. Many thanks Tushan
  3. We have just recently install Exchange 2010 running on Windows server 2008 R2, and using both outlook 2007 and 2010 as clients and everything is running fine but just yesterday, some of the users are saying: any time they are trying to search for their old emails in either outlook 2007 or 2010, the outlook search just continue searching with no result. I have never come across the problems before. Any suggestions please?? Many thanks Tushan
  4. The school logo is a .png file with a transparent background which has been working fine for over 2 years. Then we come in and find that the logo is no longer being displayed and we cannot get the library to accept a new .png file. A few days later the whole template goes black - we have created another one which seems to work fine but still no ability to show .png files.
  5. Hi RobWatson Many thanks for the response to my post. I don't really get to use it at all apart from the very first time that was setup and then handed over to the lady that manages it. I only come to know of things when they are not working as the school technician. So if you don't mind, we can talk off camera and let you talk to this lady directly. Kind regards tushan
  6. Hi We have three digital Samsung signage that have being working well till now. Just couple of days ago, the lady incharge of them complained that they are not displaying information properly any longer and the software is currently running on XP machine. So I was wandering if installing it on a Windows 7 machine will make any difference. Please help. Many thanks Tushan
  7. They both resolve server names. But when I tried the full server name, eg server.curriculum.local, The admin did resolve it but the curriculum didn't. It came with the error saying can't find the the name.... Perhaps, I should just recreate the trusts as you suggested. Kind regards
  8. Hi Domino, and thanks for your advice. Both admin and curriculum are two separate Domain but established trust relashionship between them which has been working until recently when changes were made in my absence. I've tried the link you kindly sent but what I don't understand is whether I needed to validate the relationships on both Domains. On the curriculum server, when i tried to validate, it came up with the error message saying: Windows cannot find an active directory Domain controller for adminkng.local domain. verify that AD DC is available and try again. But when I did it on the Admin server, it seems to validate, but still when I tested it on a local machine, it did work. Any more suggesttions please. Kind regards Tushan
  9. Hi guys and thanks for contiune support When the school network was set up, there are two shared areas that are made available from the curriculum server running Windows 2008 R2 standard to Admin server running Windows 2003 R2. But recently, I asked an engineer to do some work on the networks and he must have made some changes which his denied because since after his work on our systems, these shared areas no longer work for admin staff. They can still the shared areas but with big red cross over them and any time they click any of the shared areas, they get the attached error message saying: "there are currently no logon servers available to service the logon requested...... This connection has not been restored." Please help. Thanks, Tushan

  11. Good Morning Sukh and thanks for responding to my problems. We have only one AD and there are no firewalls or ACL between the networks. Regards
  12. Auto discover work because any networked pc can access exchange with outlook 2010 but unable when use through admin domain with Windows 2003.
  13. exchange.curriculum.local:)
  14. Basically, like most schools, we have two separate but physically linked networks Also, we use separate IP address for admin and curriculum. Eg 192.x.x.x series for curriculum and 10.x.x.x series for admin. Curriculum server run Windows 2008 R2 Standard and admin server runs Windows 2003 Standard and trust relationships are established between both domains. We also have an exchange server 2010 that run on Windows 2008 R2 Standard. From the curriculum side of the network, any staff can access their emails with either OWA or Outlook 2010 within office application. Whereas staff can only access their emails with only OWA in admin side of the network and when you try to use outlook 2010, it comes up with 2 error messages. (1) windows security and within it showing admin domain and the second message is “cannot open your email folders. You must connect to Microsoft exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize with your Outlook data file (.ost). Any suggestions of any possible solutions please??
  15. Big thank you Guys for a quick response. Many thanks

  17. Hello All Is there a way of using group policy in Windows 2008 R2 server to stop roaming profiles overriding local machine. For example, In my school majority of the network pcs runs windows 7 and we also have networked printers that both teachers and students print to, from any location. In addition, some of the network pcs also have local printer attached to them for teachers to print confidential documents. During set up all the local printers are set as default printers but when teachers logon to the pcs with local printers attached, not only that all the networked printers appear on the pcs, but the printer that was originally set up to be the default printer were pushed down the list, thereby sending the printed documents all over the place. Any suggestions please??? Thanks as always. tushan
  18. Hi I wonder if anyone has had similar problem and how they are resolved. I've got windows 2008 R2 server and Windows 7 workstations on the netwprk. I also use VB scripts to delpoy network printers across the network. Some local printers are also attached to some of the networked pcs. The problem is all the network printers are visible on all network computers but any documents sent to local printers, are coming out on the network printers. Is there any thing I can do to stop this happening??
