Office 365 Missing Icons

Hey All,

 

After migrating to office 365 we have an odd issue -

 

Whenever students login on their profiles they are missing the pictures for the office icons

 

 

It doesn't replicate across when they use their own machines, or if a staff member logs onto a students machine so it must be something to do with the GPO?

 

Anyone seen behaviour like this before?

 

I tried adding Office 365 to the trusted sites but no luck either

Just added it to the allowed list - Still nothing (I don't know if I'm barking up the wrong tree with the allowed list as staff don't have the exceptions and it still works for them)

office.com too? There's lots of them for it.

 

It's mainly javascript, so guess it depends if your students have more restricted settings in terms of running it compared to teachers?

Might want to check this URL isn't blocked for them too if you got custom filtering:

As that's where the fonts are stored (The images aren't images )

Yeah our filter lets them all through - all Office365 urls are whitelisted by default.

 

Everyone also should have the same settings for Java, bypass proxy and prompt for unknown websites.

 

I've narrowed it down to the User GPO's I think - but comparing the two they're nearly identical to the staff.

Hi Lofarius -

 

The GPO that was at fault in the end was 'Disable Font Download' (or simillar, I can't find the actual GPO anymore) being applied to student machines, hope that helps

Sorry to bump an older thread, but we see to have the same issue here. Only seems to be affecting a small number of staff using desktops (>10), and we haven't made any group policy changes lately regarding fonts. In the developer console we see the following errors when loading Office 365:

 

CSS3111: @font-face encountered unknown error.

office365icons.woff

 

CSS3114: @font-face failed OpenType embedding permission check. Permission must be Installable.

office365icons.ttf

 

We've tried a fair bit to resolve this after researching online but cant seem to crack it... any advice? If we use Google Chrome there are no errors at all, the problem only seems to occur when we use IE (version 11).
