Sanm2009 Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Can you guys recommend any software to monitor internet activities by users. We want to be able to identify the logged in username and device used. I am already looking at Secureus, Impero and Policycentral. But they all seem quite expensive (We are a primary school). We also want to be able to monitor Ipads (and other mobile devices if possible) by device name.
mikeprice Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 AB Tutor - more expensive than it used to be but if you want to identify what a user has been up to it will do that I used to use it in a secondary school and it saved loads of arguments when kids realised that I could see everything they did!!! (and got a few into trouble!!)
synaesthesia Posted June 15, 2015 Posted June 15, 2015 Impero. Absolute godsend of a service. It's not cheap, but it doesn't look it either, it's worth every penny. 1
smithson83 Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 @synaesthesia what do you do about android devices and chromebooks etc. Do you have a border filter as well as using impero?
synaesthesia Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 We don't have any android or chromebook devices and iPads are just for staff. 1
RichCowell Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 +1 for Impero, and ANME members new to Impero get a discount too as Impero are our Gold Sponsor...
smithson83 Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 @RichCowell , a discount you say... Tell me more... I've just had a quote from them this afternoon.
RichCowell Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 @RichCowell , a discount you say... Tell me more... I've just had a quote from them this afternoon. I'll email you now... If your quote was from Impero directly I think we can still offer the discount, if it was with another reseller we can't...
RichCowell Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 will that be for renewals too Sadly not, just for new customers... there's nothing anyone can do with renewals, whoever you go with...
dastrix Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 We went direct originally and then they changed it all
SteveM555 Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Another +1 for Impero. We also use Smoothwall for internet filtering/monitoring too.
KevinB Posted June 18, 2015 Posted June 18, 2015 Impero and Smoothwall all the way for me. These two working together make auditing/policy enforcement a dream.
