Ok long story short we're looking to streamline our image deployments with drivers/updates/apps ect ect.

We currently have a linux box running FOG and WSUS installed as a vm on Hyper-v. We have a Windows 7 VM that we keep updated and update the master FOG image every term from this.

I've just managed to install SCCM yesterday and had a bit of a play.....it seems so complex and maybe a little overkill for our site. I started to read up on WDS and then found people recommend MDT instead. Decisions decisions

My brain's just mush at the moment as i can't decide which is best to use......

We have 700 machines same amount of users and are virtualized with a server 2012 r2/win7 environment.

If anybody could give any advice that would be great.

I just seem to be over complicating things with sccm or simply have bad habits!

Thanks in advance.

We replaced FOG with MDT in all of our offices globally, FOG has a place and back when it was first put in it was the best free tool out in the wild (much nicer than RIS and the pain that was!) but things move on times change etc.. and MDT is really good for free tool and can give you a nice step to System Centre (which is our next step)

That is what I have, the VM has Server 2012 on it, WDS and MDT and the other prerequisites.

Excellent thanks, one last question, What spec is your VM
