localzuk Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 So, I'm working through the process that staff will follow when they are issued their iPads. Below are the instructions I have produced. What do people reckon? Too much? 1. Turn on 2. Swipe left 3. Tap English 4. Tap United Kingdom 5. Tap Horner 6. Enter “key” 7. Tap Join 8. Tap Continue 9. Log in using your school network login details 10. Wait until “Error Opening Page” shows. Tap OK 11. Tap Done in the top right. 12. Press the home button/fingerprint scanner 13. Tap More Wi-Fi Settings 14. Tap the now visible blue i symbol on the right hand side of the Horner item 15. Tap on Auto under HTTP Proxy 16. Tap Back in the top left 17. Tap Next in the top right 18. Tap Next on the “School will automatically configure your iPad” screen 19. If you have created an Apple ID with your school email address already (won’t apply to the majority), tap Sign In with Your Apple ID otherwise, tap Create a Free Apple ID and then follow the instructions to sign up for an Apple ID 20. If you already have the account ready, log in at the Apple ID screen. 21. Whichever route you took to log in or sign up for an Apple ID, you will eventually be shown the Terms and Conditions page. Tap Agree. 22. Tap Agree on the pop up prompt. 23.Tap Use iCloud 24. Tap Next 25. Once you reach the Touch ID page, press the finger you will want to use to unlock your iPad to the home button (no need to press down, just place it on the top). 26. You will be prompted to repeat this over and over again. 27. You will then see an Adjust your Grip page. Tap Continue 28. Place the edge of your finger on the home button repeatedly. 29. Once it says Complete tap Continue 30. Choose a passcode – it must contain at least 1 letter and 1 number and be 4+ characters long. 31.Tap Next 32. Enter the code again and tap Next 33. If the process asks you for TouchID for iTunes, choose Use for iTunes & App Store 34. You should be finished. 35. Tap Get Started By default, the time may be wrong. To fix this: 1. Tap Settings 2. Tap Privacy 3. Tap Location Services 4. Tap the little slider next to Location Services so that it goes green. 5. The iPad will now be able to automatically know where it is, and therefore show the correct time. You will need to set up your email on your iPad now. 1. Tap the Mail app icon 2. Tap Exchange 3. Enter your full school email address 4. Enter your email password 5. Tap Next 6. Tap Save Once you have reached this point, please contact localzuk via the helpdesk. He will then trigger an email to be sent to you that will be titled “Invitation to receive Apple licenses from School ICT Helpdesk”. Follow the instructions in the email. Once you’ve finished, apps will be able to be deployed from the central server without you needing to buy them via your own iTunes account.
