Arthur Posted June 4, 2015 Posted June 4, 2015 Anyone getting one? I think I might wait until someone else has reviewed it. http://store.steampowered.com/app/353370/ (Controller, £39.99) http://store.steampowered.com/app/353380/ (Steam Link, £39.99) A limited quantity of orders will be shipped 16th October, weeks in advance of our official launch. Pre-order now and be among Steam Hardware’s first wave of users.
Crumpet Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 The Steam OS looks interesting. I might do a test build on a spare PC to see how good it is. I've heard that the beta has a frame rate lag atm and Rocksmith isn't available on it yet. Aside from that i'm very interested in it.
localzuk Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Hmm... I think that's my housemate's birthday present sorted then! He wants something like this so he can play multiplayer Binding of Isaac: Rebirth with his GF.
Domo Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 going to wait for reviews, but it looks really good from what i've seen.

I think I'll pick up the controller once reviews are out, but I don't think I'll bother with Link.

Garacesh Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Huh. Did not know that. Not that I have anyone to play it with anyhow
GuyJD Posted June 5, 2015 Posted June 5, 2015 Is it going to give you less lag than the current option that lets you stream to another PC? I've got a mini itx pc in the lounge connected to the telly and tried the Steam home streaming thing and the games were pretty unplayable.
haldarulon Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 GUYS! DO NOT BUY FROM STEAM! SteamOS will run games which support Linux (less than a third of the store, mostly indie titles), or allows you to stream from a Windows PC. Making the market for it practically non-existent really. It's going to fail at competing with consoles due to lack of titles, and fail when compared to a regular PC with a HDMI lead.
