kennysarmy Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Can anyone source me a compact digital camera, from a reliable source, that takes AA batteries. I'm struggling....
NB9457 Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Just out of curiosity, why does it need to run on AAs?
Steve21 Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Decent one or random snapping? Most of the coolpix range etc still use them, or have adapters with them. Buy NIKON COOLPIX L31 Compact Digital Camera - Black | Free Delivery | Currys etc Steve - - - Updated - - - Just out of curiosity, why does it need to run on AAs? Much better for taking holiday etc, as always somewhere that sells them if you run out Or if you're like me I end up taking 6 camera-specific batteries "just incase" haha Steve

Steve21 Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Ahh, I like that logic then, good thinking! Or if it's for school wise, think 30 cameras + AA galore = yay, 30 individual batteries/chargers = boo Just more flexibility all around tbh Steve

Thanks.
ITGURU Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 I'm a photographer but for snapshots I use the Nikon Coolpix range, take normal batteries. AS for those in school, we have ones that take rechargeable batteries, but either way you either need a stock of AAs or a box of chargers which go missing, along with the SD cards!
Arthur Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Or if it's for school wise, think 30 cameras + AA galore = yay, 30 individual batteries/chargers = boo Just more flexibility all around tbh With a lot of cameras you can charge the battery in the camera itself using a standard micro USB 2.0 cable. That's what I do with my Sony RX100.

But when the little darlings bring the camera back to your office and have n't got all their pointless filming done on the request of the English teacher you don't have time to charge the camera up

kennysarmy Posted June 2, 2015 Author Posted June 2, 2015 True, although you could buy some additional batteries to charge up while the cameras aren't in use. It's a lot easier to have a box of batteries than a bank of chargers charging up a myriad of different cameras that we loan out...
