Hi there,

We have a mac mini with OSX Server. We have an ICT Suite with iMacs which are binded to AD. Being very new to macs, is there a way I can install shockwave through the mac server to all 30 iMacs without going round and doing it manually?

Many thanks!

Hi mate,

You need an app called Apple Remote Desktop. The app should automatically find all Apple Mac's in your school and from there you can deploy packages. It also come in great use as it has a lot more features than that.

Hope this helps :)

With OS X Server on its own? No. You need some kind of management software to go with it. Casper and Munki are ones which I've heard are good. If you use SCCM for your Windows estate, you can use this to manage Macs as well from 2012 SP1 onwards. There is also an Apple product that can kind of do this called Apple Remote Desktop which can be got from the App Store.

I've used ARD (Apple Remote Desktop) for this but it can get annoying after a while. More so with Adobe Flash. That said we are now using Munki Management to handle pushing out updates or additional apps like this.
