sonofsanta Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 I was taught to pull forward on green and wait for a gap in oncoming traffic. Often if you wait behind the line traffic not wanting to turn is stuck behind you. But then you turn out of the way once oncoming traffic stops, even if you look like you've got a red light, because that red light applies to the line behind you and is no longer applicable to you. Pulling past the line to wait for the gap is fine and expected and what you should do. Sitting in the middle of the junction after you've done that and traffic is coming at you from the side is the problem.

On the way I need to go round a roundabout - and go strait on. So - approaching the first exit I spot someone on a bike - got the impression they weren't likey to stop No problem - probably going left and keeping near the kerb so I just have to be reasonable room and keep clear. so I proceeded as normal - but a bit slower - good job as he/she (it was difficult to tell) happily just rode across in front of me - actually less than 6 feet in front of me If I hadn't slowed done so I could stop quickly I would have had a bike sized dent in front of my new car - and a person sized dent in the bonnet and YES - I was signalling left bet it was one of our parents!!!!
