kenrick Posted May 1, 2015 Posted May 1, 2015 (edited) Hi, We have two members of our HR Department that have email accounts created originally in Exchange 2010. When they send an email via the HR email account a copy always appears in the sent items of the HR account. However we have now moved over to Exchange 2013 and when someone ( a new member of staff whose account was created on Exchange 2013 ) tries to email from the HR email account, the email appears in the personal sent items folder, not the HR one. Is there any way around this please? Many thanks Paul Edited May 1, 2015 by elsiegee40

kenrick Posted May 1, 2015 Author Posted May 1, 2015 The HR email account the staff in the department share.
steve Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 This is probably due to the fact Microsoft left out a feature in exchange 2013, which allows you to decide where sent items go. They are ment to be bringing the feature back though. Want more control over Sent Items when using shared mailboxes? - Exchange Team Blog - Site Home - TechNet Blogs In the mean time there is a work around with a registry setting: https://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/exchange/en-US/f1daa923-de4d-42b0-975c-0ae5376a7a1d/exchange-2013-shared-mailboxes-and-sent-items
Cache Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 I never got the reg setting to work properly. My work around, which may or may not help you, was to disable automapping on the shared mailbox for the users who needed it and then configured the Account as a second account in Microsoft Outlook using their username and password. then when they replied to an email the sent item went to the shared mailbox. It also ment that the Shared Mailbox could have it's own address book which delegated users could access too. This is for Office 365, but I'll assume the same would work for Exchange 2013. 1
howartp Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 For 2010, there was a powershell command you could run to fix this per user, per shared mailbox. I can try dig it out, see if it's still available in 2013. 1
