Hi, I am not sure, sorry. I am looking for something to manage the workload of the 3 RDS servers in a round robin fashion or, diverting users to a server that is least busy. Hope this makes sense. Kenrick

Good morning, We are trying to amend the staff handbook and would like to update some of the page footers. However, after completing the editing, the date for the whole document goes back to today. The document is over 150 pages long so not practical to change it by hand every time the document is amended. Thank you very much. Kenrick

Hi Pete, Thanks for your response. They haven't been deleted, they can be found but not through the search. You have to go through manually and find the email you want. I will check and see if the OWA works, I have a feeling it does. Paul

Good morning, We are running Exchange 2013 and Office 2010. Some users are experiencing problems when trying to find old emails. Even when they do a search nothing gets returned back. Any ideas please? Many thanks Paul

Hello, I have been using DPM to backup our email server for several years and we are in the process of migrating mailboxes. Some remain for legacy reasons and the rest have moved across to a new server. I cannot backup the 3 remaining mailboxes because of a data inconsistency. What is the best way forward? Quick question, i have just updated my root hints. If i tick the box to use these when there are no forwarders, is it safe to delete the forwarders from both dns servers? I am using Google; 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 Thank you

Our DNS points to Google, although clients go to our own servers first. If I set DNS statically and have primary DNS set locally and then secondary straight to Google the problem still exists. PCs do not lose network connection at any point which is why I don't think it has anything to do with DHCP.

We don't always need to restart both servers, sometimes only one. This varies too which server needs restarting.

Yes they have ILO enabled but problem existed on old HP Servers too. The new servers have different IPs as we did a live migration to the new kit.

No, problem existed before the new hardware too. We had one physical server and one virtual. We tried moving to two new virtual servers on the brand new hosts. Been happening a while, Ja net said all seems fine. Might ask them to investigate again.

Thank you for confirming the correct setup. Our service provider Ja net cannot help with our DNS as we have too many requests, which is why we forward to Google. I have tried pinging yahoo.co.uk and its ip address simultaneously and when a page cannot be displayed neither ping drops out. I originally used NSLookup to investigate latency with Office 365 and there are times when it drops out passed our network, but never within it. I assumed that they have just configured their routers to drop nslookup requests.

We already do this Rob. Although we now have it to our own external DNS Server and then on to Google to see if that helped, it didn't. This is how it was setup originally.

Thanks Michael for your input. If we restart the services it doesn't resolve the problem, which is why we have to restart the servers. Sometimes only one server needs restarting, other times both servers need to be restarted. Our forwarders point to Google, our service provider can only support DNS if you have under a million dns requests.

I will try and ping a machine internally the next time it happens. Our web filter is currently not working, we were using lightspeed. We have a basic filter through our Cyberoam firewall.

i guess it is possible they are cached. Do you suggest we just try and remote or ping to other machines?

Yes, internal DNS is available as we Remote to the DC to enable us to restart it.

Yes, if the page doesn't display the servers are available and pages refresh. If it completely dies we have to restart the DNS servers, restarting the service doesn't fix the problem but you can still access the server.

No I haven't tried updating the Nic drivers. But even when we ran two virtual servers with the DNS running they continued to cause problems. They are running on vSphere 6.0 and the tools are up to date. Do I need to change the nics within esxi? We have brand new physical hosts as well which the VMs run from.
