Apple Configurator Certificate Expiry

Hi,

 

I have come to push a new profile out today to our set of 32 iPads and found that the Apple Configurator Certificate has expired. Has anyone else had this issue? I cant seem to find anything on how to renew this certificate.

 

Any help would be much appreciated.

Someone posted this on the Apple forum-

 

Make some screen shots from the expired certificate, export it (backup) and delete it with the Keychain Access App.

 

Apple Configurator will create a new certificate at the next app start. Validity again for one year.

 

The Keychain certificates are named:

Apple Configurator - public key

Apple Configurator - private key

 

Steps:

Quit Configurator if running.

From Keychain Access export both certificates to the Desktop.

Delete the 2 certificates from Keychain Access.

Restart Configurator - this should generate 2 new, valid certificates.

 

If this works then the backup of the old certificates can be deleted.

Thanks for the reply, I have exported these 2 certificates. I did notice that there is an Apple Configurator certificate that states that it is expired. Should I delete this too?

I guess so. I've not had the problem myself so I can't guarantee the steps above will fix it.

 

If you export the expired certificate to the desktop before you delete it from the keychain then you have that as a backup if anything dodgy happens. Just make sure to quit Configurator before deleting.

Ok thanks, I will back that up and try the steps you suggested, hopefully it will start working again.

I tried that and it did create a new certificate although when refreshing one of the iPads it returned the error "could not verify supervision state".

I think I just reboot Configurator, disconnect and reconnect the iPad when I get that error.

I have tried rebooting configurator and the Macbook but still getting the same error message.
