Watch out on your WSUS for this update, Microsoft have pushed it out as a critical update which rebrands Lync and on our machines seems to make it crash on startup. Odd that they've rebranded a single component of Office in this way, would usually expect something like that to be in the Updates or Feature Packs category

It's been in the works for a few months now, as Microsoft announced it on the 365 messages back in Jan. So far it's been fine on our stations once we made sure that the Office service Pack was deployed so that the SfB update would go out.

I'd heard about the rebrand, although not the deployment method. Will have to see if that feed is available as RSS like the Service Health Alerts as it's a pain to keep checking back on that page for updates.

 

All ours are running SP1 but had a few odd issues this morning which I guess may be related to the recent updates, perfect for Monday morning

Has anyone experienced outlook 2010 not working once skype for business is installed?

I've had to upgrade outlook to 2013, also looking out for an update because i've heard there might be a hotfix for this

I like the new update! Was a bit of a shock when I saw Skype show up on my machine though! Ha

Small Fysh in a big pond: Do you have the Lync 2013 client deployed? If so - DO THIS NOW!

 

I'd hope it is as we use Lync via Office 365

I found a temporary fix for this just in case anyone else is having a similar issue.

Disabled the social connector add in, this can be done by starting in safe mode or by GPO as described here:
