Windows 10 for Raspberry Pi - Free

I'm not sure whether this is a Windows 10 post, or a Raspberry Pi post - but I think the Windows 10 is a bit more relevant.

 

What's your thought on Microsoft releasing a free version of Windows 10 for the Pi?

 

I've heard some crazy things - but I think this will be awesome to see it in action:

I'm keen to see the Pi2 when I can get my hands on one.

Be aware its not really a full blown version of Windows 10. It's designed for coders to develop apps which can be used across the whole spectrum of Windows 10 based devices i.e. PC's, Windows Phone, Tablets, Xbox One (eventually)..

 

Don't expect to be able to run internet explorer or MS Office from it, the interface just won't be there for that Which is a shame as it would make a great use of our Raspberrys. Incidentally the Pi2 is pretty good by all accounts, the guy I work with got one to use for his home media centre and he says its fast as anything!

Still, I have a Pi B at the moment and its collecting dust (all the accessories and everything else)!

 

I've heard so much good stuff about the new one I think I'll be on element14 soon buying 1.

I've just upgraded to a Pi 2 for my audio streamer based on Volumio. It's fast and works beautifully well.
