Work Folders

I have been given the task to migrate us from Offline Files to Work Folders. I have read a few guides but they all seem to be starting from scratch rather than having the folders already in place. If anyone has done it - can I just enable the sync share on the root of the staff share and give all the staff access to sync their home drives that way?

Im moving all our staff to a new file server and will most likely ditch offline files for work folders at the same time but obviously need to migrate the data rather than starting fresh

from my limited testing on vms you should be fine as on the server itself data is just in folders with appropriate permissions applied so it should make no difference but as I said I tested it on vms with fake data
