gary234 Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 Hi All I've been asked to look into a solution for booking rooms/resources online! The key features I’m looking for are: 1.) for all external bookings, and email/notifications sent to the finance dept. 2.) Easy to use 3.) Accessible to all staff users on the network 4.) Produced meaningful stats on useage for internal/external bookings 5.) Integration with outlook/exchange would be advantageous but not a necessity! Does anyone use a system like this or know of one available?? Thanks for any help in advance!! Gary
iatkinson Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 http://mrbs.sourceforge.net/ This is what we use for room and resource booking. Staff seem to get on with it fairly well.
gary234 Posted December 12, 2007 Author Posted December 12, 2007 Hi Thanks for the reply. Does MRBS have the email notification facility?? Thanks
SpuffMonkey Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 We've just got this one http://www.fasttrackroombooking.com/FTRBFeatures.asp As it does invoicing for external bookings and has a nice easy to see front page.
iatkinson Posted December 12, 2007 Posted December 12, 2007 I didn't set it up, one of my colleagues did. It's set to e-mail me when equipment is booked but not when rooms are so the facility is there.
john316 Posted December 13, 2007 Posted December 13, 2007 http://folders.devizes.wilts.sch.uk/download/bookingsystem3/index.asp Fabulous Room Booking Software - all runs over the network, easy to set up and easy for staff to use. Ticks all of the boxes for us.
dgsmith Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 I would have to echo iatkinson's recommandation for mrbs. Although the vanilla version is perfectly fine and has such features including AD auth, email notification (which we use - and very easy to setup), I have made several tweaks to it such as restricted to only 2 week booking etc; with a little php knowledge the whole software can be made to do a very good job, although this of course certainly isn't necessary and can run fine from an install from vanilla. Stats is done via report queries for searching for bookings by username, time, date etc. Multiple locations can be set up and each location can have a separate email setup (so for our ICT rooms, when someone books, an email is sent to the teacher whos room it is).
FN-GM Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Webman has a good PHP program he developed. Just need him to come over and tell us about it. z
Edu-IT Posted December 28, 2007 Posted December 28, 2007 Webman has a good PHP program he developed. Just need him to come over and tell us about it. z I think I am right in saying that this is the site for the system he has developed. http://classroombookings.com/
