Hi everyone, does anyone know how i can set a group policy to disable users from access their pictures, music, video folders from their documents?

So that they can only store pictures etc in their documents not in separate sections.

Also, is there away i can do a group policy to remove favourites?

Could you use folder redirection to redirect everything to the same folder?

Do you mean Windows Explorer Favourites or IE? If the latter, redirect to a folder they don't have rights to alter?

I'm talking about Windows Explorer. How would I go about on redirecting everything into one place when using GPO's?

I'd agree with the above - specify the same UNC path for all. As for Favourites, if you don't re-direct it, it'll just be created locally. It's a system created folder, so it's needed regardless.

Is it really a problem if users create their own Favourites? Again, you could specify the same UNC path... but to be honest, file organisation is going to be a mess. Folders are there for a reason.

User Configuration>Policies>Windows Settings>Folder Redirection then right-click the appropriate folder and "Properties" for various options. Not done it myself as I tend move "Documents" to their Homeshare and get the rest to follow. Not sure if not having the appropriate subfolders in the "Documents" folder would have a knock-on effect elsewhere. What are you trying to achieve?

P.S. A discussion here where a method to remove favourites is linked, but it doesn't seem to be a great idea.
