Edu-IT Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 I keep getting an error: Connecting to the remote server failed with the following error message : The SSL connection cannot be established. Verify that the service on the remote host is properly configured to listen for HTTPS requests. Is this something I am doing, or, an MS fault?
Michael Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Are you sure it's not a firewall issue your end? What about if you tether a notebook via 3G, does it work then?
Edu-IT Posted March 26, 2015 Author Posted March 26, 2015 I've not got enough data to try. Is there any other way I can check if the port is blocked, without going to the ISP?
Michael Posted March 26, 2015 Posted March 26, 2015 Powershell uses 5985 and 5986, so if you phone your ISP they should be able to tell you. As I say, if you tether a notebook via 3G and it works, then it's likely the ports it needs are blocked.
Edu-IT Posted March 26, 2015 Author Posted March 26, 2015 These are what they have open. So you're probably right.

80, 443, 587, 993, 995, 5223 TCP 3478 UDP
